Angela Rayner's road to the top of British politics has been an unlikely one
The former care worker had a baby at the age of 16. She has had two more sons, Charlie, born prematurely at 23 weeks, and Jimmy.
She says the care that Charlie received demonstrated the importance of the NHS to her. "I would be lost without the NHS," she said. "It's the best thing in the world."
Rayner lives in her constituency home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, with her partner, Sam Tarry, and their three children.
