Global IT Outage Disrupts Services Worldwide
Long Lines at Airports, 911 Systems Impacted
A global technology outage has caused major disruptions across the world, affecting airlines, businesses, and emergency services. Long lines formed at airports from Hong Kong to Amsterdam to Baltimore on Friday as the outage disrupted check-in and baggage systems. In the Alaska, many 911 and nonemergency call centers were impacted, but systems were back to normal today.
Tech Disruptions Hit Airlines and Businesses
The outage has also hit businesses, with banks, supermarkets, and media companies reporting problems. A massive IT systems outage caused by issues with CrowdStrike software is the culprit. The global outage has prevented several TV stations in the US from airing local news early Friday. KSHB-TV in Kansas City Missouri aired national news.
