Broods XIX and XIII to Surface in Spring
Georgia and the Southeast to Welcome Brood XIX Cicadas
Prepare for a chorus of cicadas this spring as billions of the insects prepare to emerge from their underground slumber. Brood XIX, known as the 13-year cicadas, will resurface in Georgia and the Southeastern United States. Meanwhile, Brood XIII, the 17-year cicadas, will make an appearance in Illinois. This extraordinary event will mark the beginning of a decade-long cycle of cicada emergences across the country.
