Hugh Freeze Auburn Contract Details

Auburn Football Coach Hugh Freeze Inks Lucrative Contract

$6.5 Million Base Salary with Annual Increase

Details of Six-Year Agreement Revealed

After months of speculation, the full details of Hugh Freeze's contract as Auburn University's head football coach have been released. Freeze, who was officially announced as the Tigers' new head coach in November 2022, has agreed to a six-year deal with an annual base compensation of $6.5 million.

According to the contract, Freeze's salary will increase by $250,000 each year, meaning he will earn a base salary of $7 million in his final year with the Tigers.

The contract also includes a number of performance-based incentives, such as bonuses for winning bowl games, conference championships, and the College Football Playoff.

In addition to his base salary, Freeze will also receive a number of other benefits, such as a car allowance, a housing allowance, and a retirement plan.

The release of Freeze's contract details comes at a time when Auburn is facing financial challenges. The university has announced plans to cut $60 million from its budget, and the athletic department is expected to bear the brunt of those cuts.

Despite the financial challenges, Auburn athletic director John Cohen said he is confident that Freeze is the right man to lead the Tigers back to prominence.

"Hugh Freeze is a proven winner who has a track record of success both on and off the field," Cohen said. "We are confident that he will build a championship program at Auburn."
